Catch #011 · landed Aug 27, 2026

Raycast

Raycast is the launcher that swallowed a whole category of utilities — window management, clipboard history, AI chat — behind one keystroke, now on Windows as well as the Mac where it began. Its site set the tone for a wave of dark, keyboard-flavored product pages.

Near-black ground, one slash of red brushwork behind the headline, and everything else set with a keyboard user’s economy — the page moves at the speed the product promises. Below the fold it argues with interface truth: real panels, real shortcuts, extension tiles laid out like a command palette. This dark launcher aesthetic has been strip-mined by developer tools for years; the original stays ahead on fit, because the site reads as the product’s own surface extended to the web rather than a brochure about it.

Swatches lifted straight from the capture — follow one to its shade.
